The minimum standard of competence in Basic Training, as defined

Seafarers can obtain the Certificate of Proficiency in Basic Training
on the IGF Code in one of two ways: either by completing an ap-
proved Basic IGF Code Training Course or by simply applying for
the certificate if they already hold a valid Basic or Advanced Gas
Tanker Cargo Operation Certificate of Proficiency in accordance
with STCW Regulation V/1-2.
Advanced Training subject to the IGF Code
According to the STCW Convention, if you are a Master, Engineer
Officer, or anyone with immediate responsibility for the care and
use of fuels, you must hold a CoP in Advanced Training (STCW
Reg. V/3 and Code A-V/3-2).
If you do not have a Basic or Advanced Gas Tanker Cargo Op-
