MINERVA IN FOCUS Our people
Interns, We asked young people who recently
completed their internship at Minerva
Welcome! to reflect on their experience!
Foivos Giotopoulos,
Intern, Technical Department
I spent July and August of 2024 as an intern in Minerva
Marine’s Technical Department, coming from the Department
of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics at the Uni-
versity of Patras. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent
at Minerva, meeting everyone in the Technical Department
and observing how they work and how they manage the var-
ious problems that arise with the vessels.I accumulated
a lot of knowledge on the inner workings of a vessel and
all the operations taking place on board. However, what
impressed me the most was seeing how such a large team
works together, communicating efficiently and solving
problems quickly. I would recommend it to anyone who is
considering a career in the shipping industry.
Antonis Kotsinis,
Intern, HSQ & Marine Department
My name is Antonis Kotsinis. I am about to complete my un-
dergraduate degree in Business Administration at the Uni-
versity of Piraeus. I joined Minerva Marine’s HSQ & Marine
Dept. for my two-month internship, which equipped me with
valuable skills and insights, giving me the opportunity to
become familiarised with the maritime industry, from a de-
partment that plays a crucial role in shipping companies.
I am looking forward to carrying these important lessons
with me and constantly evolving. I am especially grateful
for the support of Mr Stefanos K. Stylianos, HSQ & Marine
Manager and DPA, Mr Dimitros, Head of HSQ, Mr Margaris,
Safety Officer, Mrs Kyrli, HSQ Administrator, and Mrs Kar-
ti, HSQ Officer. Thanks to the entire Minerva family and
to Minerva Marine for this incredible opportunity!
Petros Matsoukis,
Intern, IT Department
My name is Petros Matsoukis, and I am a final-year student
in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineer-
ing at the University of Thessaly's School of Engineer-
ing. I recently completed a two-month internship in the
IT department at Minerva Marine, gaining my first work
experience. This opportunity introduced me to the world
of shipping and allowed me to collaborate with experi-
enced professionals who were eager to guide me, offering
valuable insights. The friendly atmosphere and the team's
supportive attitude helped me develop my communication and
teamwork skills. Through this collaboration, I gained sig-
nificant experience and skills, and I am confident that I
could work with the company again in the future.
