It is with great pride and honor that we congratulate Capt. Georgios P. Vranas
and the crew of MINERVA ZENOBIA for the bravery and compassion they showed Maximise fuel
during a rescue operation at the Straits of Florida on Monday 21st June 2022. The
operation was carried out with great diligence and was an outstanding success,
proving the crew’s devotion to seamanship principles and the value of human life.
The adventure began that morning when a floating raft with an indiscernible num- effi ciency with
ber of people on board and three people in the water were sighted at a distance
of 1nm from the vessel. Without any hesitation, the captain took control of the
vessel and performed a turn to change its course and approach the raft. Three
people were recovered from the water and another fifteen from the raft, all in Hempel SHAPE
good health. The crew contacted the US Coast Guard, which arrived about three
hours later to drive the rescued people to shore.
Once the successful completion of the rescue operation was confirmed and com-
municated to the US Coast Guard, the ship resumed its voyage.
